The Expos in Spaces screenshot is wild...

And agree with Chundles that until we see ALL of Leopard's features listed, there's no way you can make a valid purchase decision on it.

    And the case issue? LMAO!
    1. Apple would tell case manufacturers if this were a problem so that they could prepare.
    2. The difference in thickness would be minimal (10%?? No way). So only a few cases would be affected so owners of white iphones would have to selected from a smaller variety of options. If this were a true story that is.

Apple actually NEVER tells case manufacturers when there's going to be updated/changed specifications, so case manufacturers never know. Case in point...the Verizon iPhone and it's change. Not one case manufacturer knew before hand. And the manufacturers that this hurts the most are the smaller, more custom/high end case manufacturers, like all of the CNC guys. Just creates more setup for them, and a headache to run pieces at yet another dimension. I have quite a few friends in this line of work, and I know how they hated the unannounced change in specs to the Verizon model.

Although Apple is behind Gateway in market share, Apple's earnings (not revenue, earnings) last quarter (not year, quarter) is pretty close to Gateway's market capitalization!

Not surprising given that Gateway's market share numbers come directly from the extremely low margin, low end systems they are dumping on the market. In other words they have higher volumes but they are making next to nothing (for some nearly selling at a loss) in order to get those volumes.

...basically the stock market knows that Gateway is not a very safe bet...

They'll buy the panel from Samsung, charge double the price of everything else on the market and the sheep will be lined up for days to buy one. It will be a huge hit and Sony and Samsung will go out of business.
Out of the 5 predictions above, only #1 and #4 have any chance of happening, and even that chance is slim to none.

I've wanted hyperlinks and a touch screen on the iPod since forever. Many times I do "shuffle songs", then it lands on an artist or album that I'd like to hear more of. It would be great to be able to click on the artist name or the album and then jump right there.

My friend is working an overnight with the visual team tonight at a UK apple store. that only means one thing. cannot wait for tomorrow.

My friend works for Apple too, but he is working late tomorrow night.... but also said he has been informed (from other employees) that the refresh will be tomorrow daytime. Which is a bit odd. The only reason i can think of, it maybe they are delaying the POS until the US markets/stores/etc open. I am guessing Apple wouldn't be too keen to release something whilst the natives are still asleep!.... but your friend is working tonight.... soooo

I really really hope macs are good! I have a 1500 HP, and a 1900 Sony Vaio, and both are playing up! After only 2 years!

The more "interesting" restriction I saw (and mentioned in the other thread) was the "don't use DRM in a VM" restriction even with business or ultimate.

    B

Of course not, the DRM would then be transferrable. Which given the lack of DRM license backups, I think that is what most people will do.

If you want functionality, then go use Windows. Most Mac users are designers and the look of something is just as important as functionality. Steve Jobs may love the look of his day planner, that doesn't mean I have to be stuck with it.

You and the person you quoted imply that UI is not a part of the functionality.

    Am I right?

By definition, having alternatives makes Apple NOT a monopoly.

Really. We have an awful lot of ill-educated people around here who think they know economics....Wayyyyyyy too many people are saying that with a straight face.

Right, it's like Apple researched every mobile technology by itslef without infringing anyone's patent.

That's called L-I-C-E-N-S-I-N-G. And you will find it in many Apple products.
